Detailed Itineraries
Day 1: Pick
up from the hotel and drive down south and to Selous Game
Reserve. At 55,000 km sq, Selous is the largest
protected largest game reserve in the world. It is named
after legendary British hunter-explorer Frederick Courtney
Selous, who was killed here during the WW1.
Selous boasts of Tanzania's
largest population of elephant as well as large numbers of
herds of buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wild dog, a variety of
440 species of birds, over 2000 variety of plants, hot
volcanic springs, lagoons, the great Rufiji River and the
diverse landscape makes Selous Game Reserve a World Heritage
site. Other species commonly seen are lion, bushbuck,
impala, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra and greater kudu. Over

Day 2:
Start the day with a walking
safari accompanied by an armed game ranger. Thereafter,
proceed for a full day drive with packed picnic lunch
provided. Overnight at

Day 3: Morning
boat safaris along Rufiji River which will be followed by
the full day game drive in the reserve with
Mwizarubi Explorer Mobile Camp,
full board.
Day 4: Mikumi
N.P. is Tanzania's third largest National Park and covers an
area of 3230 sq km. One of the principal features of Mikumi
is the Mkata River flood plain, an area of lush vegetation,
which particularly attracts elephants and buffaloes. The
park is flanked between the Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains.
Open grasslands dominate in the flood plain, eventually
merging with the miombo woodlands covering the lower hills.
Mikumi National Park is home to buffalos, giraffes,
elephants, lions, zebras, leopards and is also famous for
its wild dogs and 6m long pythons.

Day 5: Ruaha
is approximately 5hrs drive from Mikumi. This is one of the
most scenic routes in southern circuit, villages, hills,
mountain, local agricultural projects on the great Ruaha
River are some of the attractions on this route.

Day 6&7: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
is Tanzania's 2nd biggest park and host to a number
of animals which are rare or absent in the North. The rare
animals include the African Wild dog, roan and sable
antelope and the greater kudu. The Great Ruaha River that
provides life to the park, flows through the eastern side of
the park and is home to hippos, crocodiles and a variety of
water birds. Over nights at the

Day 8: Breakfast
at the camp then depart fro Udzungwa National Park , and
overnight at Mwizarubi

Day 9: Early
morning breakfast at the camp then start the days hiking up
the Udzungwa Mountains. Overnight at Mwizarubi

Udzungwa Mountains National Park
covers an area 1,900 sq km and is the newest National Park
in Tanzania opened to the public only 1992. The red colubus
and the Sanje crested manabrey, elephants, buffalos,
leopards, and sable antelopes are some of the residents in
this park. A good range of birdlife is present which
includes Rufous winged sunbird, Iringa akalat, Lagden’s bush
shrike and Udzungwa partridge. Activities include a hike to
the Sanje water falls or a climb to the top of the
Luhombereo, Udzungwa highest peak.
Day 10:Early
morning departure for Dar es Salaam to connect with your
flight for Zanzibar or to connect with your flight back
home.

dome with equipped with military (cot) bed with shared
toilet and shower facilities

The beds are daily laid with clean linen laid over
comfortable mattress. Mosquito netting on all doors and
windows provides security from insects. Hot water for
bathing is available throughout the day.
